DDN has a long-standing tradition of working with the best technology partners in the business to go beyond just storage and build complete solutions for our customers. At the IBC show in Amsterdam, we will be showcasing our active archive solution in a new partnership with ASG and its Digital Archive (ADA) software.
When ASG purchased the company formerly known as Atempo, it acquired their digital archive software solution. The Atempo name has been a stalwart in the media and entertainment business for many years, working to manage digital archives in the standard multi-tiered storage environments typically found in media and entertainment production, and usually including integration with a final tier of magnetic tape archives.
In early 2013, a large international post-production company was facing problems handling very large amounts of data including movies, documentaries, trailers, etc. The company needed to be able to archive the data at very high speeds, secure it in different locations and retrieve it very quickly to meet various post-production requirements. Any of the video sequences also had to be available to editors when requested, even during peak times and off-hours. The solution required could not be provided by standard archiving solutions. The company turned to DDN and ASG for a high performance, high availability, active archive and collaboration solution that can also address the company’s need to access geographically distributed content. The ADA software adds an interface option for interacting with the DDN WOS object storage to create an easy to use, high performance “active” archive storage tier. DDN and ASG have been working together for some months now to make this solution now available to all DDN and ASG customers. This DDN ASG active archive solution provides for collaboration, content distribution and archive in a single high performance solution with an easy to use, feature-rich, open standards interface.
Please join us September 13- 17 at the IBC show in Amsterdam at stand 7/C30 to learn more about our partnership with ASG and this best-in-breed active archive solution.
