DataDirect Networks Surges Behind Growth of Big Data, Recognized as One of Fastest-Growing Companies in Los Angeles
Worldwide explosion in data creation positions DataDirect Networks for rapid growth, increased interest in leadership-class data infrastructure products
CHATSWORTH, CA — (December 13, 2010) — DataDirect Networks (DDN), the leading data infrastructure provider for the world’s most scalable, content-intensive enterprises, today announced the company has been named one of the 100 fastest-growing private companies in the Los Angeles area — the second largest metro in the United States — by the Los Angeles Business Journal, and was one of only 20 companies on the list with more than $100M in annual revenue.
The award marked the latest in a series of honors for the 12-year-old company. Recognition on the annual Los Angeles Business Journal list follows DDN’s inclusion in both the Inc. 500|5000 and Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™. DDN is the only data storage company to appear on both of the latter two lists in 2010.
“We are very pleased to be recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in greater Los Angeles,” said Alex Bouzari, CEO and cofounder, DataDirect Networks. “We are entering a new era in computing — one marked by a surge in the creation of data, especially in scientific research, Web content and the increasing sophistication of the entertainment industry. All of these industries have strong roots here in the Los Angeles area, helping DDN to anticipate this trend and build best-in-class products to meet the demand. We are proud of our company and proud to call the Los Angeles area home.”
The awards follow another year of rapid growth for DDN. This year the company announced its expansion into the Middle East and secured major customer wins as it expands into Asia, with much of the new activity coming through a burgeoning network of partners that includes Dell, HP, IBM, and Sony.
“The age of ‘Big Data’ is upon us — people are recognizing they can no longer ignore tidal wave of information that is being created all over the world,” said Paul Bloch, President and cofounder, DataDirect Networks. “DDN is helping organizations around the world manage this data deluge efficiently and intelligently, and is well-positioned for continued growth.”
