WOS enables customers to build the perfect storage platform for any data type or size. The platform can be tuned to support any application that needs to store and access large volumes of unstructured data. Policies can be set per object, so one single WOS infrastructure can be used to support several applications. For example, it is perfectly possible to use WOS for a combined sync & share, DR and archiving solution – or to build a scale-out web application that will be generating billions of small files, but also needs to provide high throughput to stream high-resolution movies.

Each WOS7000 High Performance Appliance node is preconfigured with WOS software. This appliance node is a four-unit (4U), rack-mountable enclosure that houses two power cooling modules, two controllers, and slots for 60 disks. The controllers provide system management and host connectivity interfaces. The two controllers are redundant and hot-swappable modules, to enable failover and seamless online upgrades. The WOS7000 is also available as a single controller model for deeper archive use cases.
Featuring both density and performance, the WOS8460 appliance can meet even the most challenging object storage requirements. Designed for larger scale deployments, the 5U 84 drive system won’t get bogged by implementations that require the most performance and capacity in the minimum of floor space. WOS8460 is fully configured with rack mounts for 19” wide racks, and is five EIA units (5U) high that includes a 4U enclosure which can house 84 drives and a 1U Object Storage Node. The front of the enclosure has enclosure and disk status as well as disk activity LEDs, which are visible through the front bezel.
To help deliver the industry’s most powerful Object Storage platform into existing multi-petabyte environments, or instances where hardware replacement is not an option, WOS is also available for software-only deployments on pre-approved third party systems.
